MEMORIAL SUNDAY
On Sunday May 18, 2025, members and retirees gathered at Belmont Cemetery for the annual memorial Sunday service. The ceremony is a sign of respect to the members who have gone before us, acknowledging the sacrifices that they made.
GROUPS VIEW ICE RINK CONSTRUCTION
Over the past couple weeks, all four groups have been cycling through new ice rink on Concord Avenue. Being familiar with buildings under construction and the future layout of the facility assist firefighters in planning for emergency responses to the property.
PUMP TRAINING EVOLUTIONS
Members took advantage of the nice weather to conduct some pump evolutions with our newest members before they left for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. There are currently three FFOPs assigned to the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy recruit training.
INTERNATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS DAY
May 4th is international firefighters day. On this day we recognize those who risk their lives each day, ensuring public safety. We also honor and remember those firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty. Thank you for all that you do!
ALL FOUR GROUPS COMPLETE AERIAL TRAINING LAST WEEK
Last week, between calls for service, all the groups and members conducted aerial operator training. The course included classroom portion along with a hands on aspect.

BELMONT FIRE ACCEPTING LATERAL TRANSFERS
The Belmont Fire Department is still seeking firefighter/paramedic lateral transfers. If you are a civil service firefighter/paramedic interested in serving on a progressive department with new equipment proving ALS services in the metro Boston area, we want to hear from you! Please see attached.
BELMONT REPONDS TO 4TH ALARM IN WALTHAM
Early Saturday morning Engine 1 and C-3 responded to and operated at a 4th Alarm fire in Waltham. The fire involved two abandoned buildings at the Fernald School property on Trapelo Road in Waltham.
EVENTFUL DAY FOR GROUP 4 YESTERDAY
Between handling multiple calls for service, members completed a variety of other activities during their day shift. In a Man Versus Machine evolution, members were able to simulate the extrication of a hand from a meat a grinder. All companies stopped by the library construction site to become familiar with the new property. Finally, as the warmer weather approaches, members spruced up Rollie Weatherbee’s memorial at fire headquarters. Nice initiative everyone!
